The Good News

Look at the sky on a sunny day.  Look at the smile of a young child.  Listen to your favorite music.  There is much beauty in this world.

But there is brokenness, too.  We fall down, we get hurt, we hurt others.  There are storms, disease, and death.  We know deep down the world is not as it should be.

What happened?

The Bible tells us the true story of what happened.

God created this amazingly beautiful world and universe, and everything good in it.

Adam and Eve, representing all of mankind, rebelled against God's goodness and went their own way.   This sin of Adam brought with it the pain and brokenness we now experience as consequences of his (and our) rebellion.

Because God loves the world, He sent Jesus who came as the "Second Adam" to live the perfect life mankind should have lived and to take upon Himself the punishment that we deserve because of our rebellion against God.

Jesus lived, died, and was raised to life and is now King of Kings, ruling and reigning at the right hand of God the Father.

By simple faith and repentance (turning away from your sin and turning to God), treasuring God and trusting Him above all, anyone can be born again into a new life of joy and peace with God.

Won't you make Christ your treasure, today?  Won't you delight in what He has done for sinners like you and me?

Take Jesus at His word:  "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
